Lucy Greer grew up in Mobile, Alabama, in a close-knit family where time together—often in the kitchen—shaped her love of food and community. She began working in her family’s grocery stores at just nine years old, developing an early appreciation for both people and business, with a clear vision to one day work at Greer’s.

Lucy earned a degree in Business Administration from Auburn University and later completed culinary training in Birmingham, gaining experience across fine dining, catering, and specialty grocery. She returned home to Mobile in 2010 with both business and culinary degrees and quickly put them to work at Greer’s, overseeing Deli and Bakery operations, launching Greer’s Catering, and becoming the company’s corporate spokesperson through television and radio appearances.

Over the past 15 years, Lucy has grown into a senior leadership role at Greer’s, now serving as Corporate Spokesperson and Vice President of Deli, Bakery, and Catering Operations, while also overseeing IT, accounting, and store design. The heart of her work—and her greatest professional fulfillment—comes from the connections built with customers, colleagues, and the community, made possible through food.

Lucy and her husband, Spiro, live in Mobile with their four children: twins Nick and Jack, and daughters Elle and Mary Barton.
