What is a Community Endowment Fund?

The Community Endowment Fund was created by visionary philanthropists who wanted to support the community beyond their lifetime.

Your gifts are pooled with others for the purpose of making grants targeting high-impact, broad-reaching initiatives, overseen by the Board of Directors.

These funds are the most timeless in terms of community impact because they allow the Foundation to address emerging community challenges.

Grants are awarded to capable nonprofit organizations through the review of program proposals.
You have the opportunity to give in any amount to the Community Endowment Fund to support your community.

All contributions to The Community Foundation are tax deductible.

Community Endowment Named Funds

Turn your gift into a lasting legacy by establishing a Community Endowment Fund bearing your family or company name.

These named funds offer ways for friends, family members, neighbors and colleagues to commemorate special individuals.

Tax deductions are earned at the time the gift is made and grant awards will bear the name of your fund and continue in perpetuity.

By giving to The Foundation you are making an investment in your community. You are joining thousands of other concerned citizens who are making a difference.

Gifts are pooled together and invested, thus earning returns that are used to make high-impact grants overseen by the Board of Directors. This approach allows the fund balance to grow and eventually the amount awarded in grants will exceed the original gift.

When you establish a Community Endowment Named Fund, your gift is timeless because it can address a broad range of local needs – including future needs. This flexibility allows the Board of Directors to determine grant initiatives that will respond to the most pressing community needs, today and tomorrow.
